Q.S.A. three clasps 'CC' 'OFS' 'Trans'. Some contact wear and suspender slightly loose. With a copy of the medal roll confirming the three clasps; also entitled to the clasp 'SA01'. The roll confirms that he did not serve with any other unit. With copy service papers - Thomas Dexter served as a Sgt. in the unit, enlisting on 7/12/00 and being discharged on 28/6/01 "time expired". His conduct was "very good" and he lived at 42 Ebenezer Road, Cape Town. The C.-in-C.'s Bodyguard was raised by Lord Roberts in January 1900 and consisted of picked colonial volunteers. In November 1900 it became a larger fighting unit and operated in Orange River Colony until July 1901.
