1939-45 Star, Italy Star; Defence & War Medals; G.S.M. 1918-62 one clasp 'Palestine 1945-48' (Capt., R.A.); E.M. 'Territorial' (G.VI.R. 2nd type) (Lieut., R.A.). Latter two toned. Mtd as worn. Alfred Frederick Morgan Cottle was born in Lambeth, London, in 1915 and married there in 1936. He was commissioned from Cadet into the R.A. on 30/10/41; W.S./Lieut. 1/10/42, T./Capt. 12/4/46; to Short Service Commission - Capt. 1/11/47, T./Major 10/3/52, Major 1/1/56, retired 1/7/59. With a photocopy of the medal roll confirming the G.S.M. as Capt. R.A. - the medal was issued on 18/1/52. The E.M. is confirmed in the L.G. 8/1/52 - Lieut. (now Capt.) R.A. He died on 18/4/93 at 34 Mowbray Court, Mowbray Road, London SE19.
