B.W.M. & V.M. (Capt.); Special Constabulary L.S.G.C. (G.VI.R. 1st type) (Francis E. Reynolds). First two mtd as worn. The L.S.G.C. is in the named box of issue indicating service in Glasgow. With full details - Francis Esmond Reynolds was born in Ilkley, Yorkshire, on 17/7/82; at an early age his family moved to Birmingham where he was educated at King Edward VI High School. He qualified as a doctor at Edinburgh University in 1908 and was then Assistant to the Professor of Pathology there 1911-12. He joined the Inns of Court O.T.C. on 26/1/15 and served as a L./Cpl. in the Squadron until commissioned into the Yorkshire Hussars on 20/4/15; Lieut. July 1915, Capt. December 1915; to R.A.M.C. in August 1917; served overseas in Salonika from 7/11/18 and was then on active service in the Caucasus (South Russia) and in Asia Minor. In a distinguished medical career he studied at the Universities of Edinburgh, Dublin, London, Cambridge, Berlin and Brussels; his qualifications included F.R.S.E., M.D. (Gold Medal) (Edin.), M.B., Ch.B., F.R.C.P.E., L.M. (Dublin), D.T.M. (London) and D.T.M. & H. (Cambridge); Fellow of the Royal Medical Society of Edinburgh; Pathologist, Glasgow Hospitals; Professor of Pathology at Cairo School of Medicine, etc.
